5 million copies a day song was hijacked in Indonesia

Secretary of Directorate General of Intellectual Property Law and Human Rights Ministry, Bambang Iriana Djajaatmadja asserted, the current piracy rate in Indonesia shows concern.
Piracy, Bambang said, is done through the internet which are providing facilities of activity that has cost the country billions of rupiah.
"In one day, about 5 million copies of the song that was hijacked from the internet and the result is stored in a CD to be consumed in the wild," said Bambang, Tuesday, June 28, 2011.
In fact, Bambang said, there are songs that have not sold in the market, but has already consumed a lot of people. "This is obviously cause great harm to the artist in question," said Bambang.
Internet era is no doubt its existence in the communication and information access. Unfortunately, the freedom to use the internet accessibility is also no clear regulation.
"Everyone hijact what the creations of others in the Internet," said Bambang. "Although there has been no clear regulation, but such measures have violated intellectual property rights," he said.
Download songs, one of the many examples is actually songwriter and singer who has a patent, can be accessed and become public domain. "Intellectual Property Rights through the medium of the Internet is indeed not have clear rules. Which is the right person and where a general right. It's still in the formulation stage, "he said.
Bambang hoped, Menkoinfo who has devised a regulatory authority is immediately menelurkannya into law so that the regulation is clear. "Let's have internet access regulation is clear. Let all the people limit themselves which became privately owned and which are to be public domain, "he said.
However, there is no denying that the public interest to use the internet as a fundamental freedom is very high. "But still there needs to be signposts to clarify the freedom to use that information. There is a scope-specific scope that must be obeyed, "said Bambang.
"It's very difficult to prohibit or restrict the public to download a song," Bambang said. "Although it is an infringement of IPR, but it's as difficult to eradicate porn sites. Restrict to download the song very difficult, "he said.
Bambang said that in the era of the Internet or a server as it is now, very hard to find a way to honor the work of others. Desperately needed an education culture that can be advantages to respect other people's work.
"Actually, we have returned to their respective cultures in order to respect what the other people's work," said Bambang.
In prevention efforts against the proliferation of IPR infringement, and Menkoinfo Menkumham have been coordinating to make a rule. "Not in the form of law, but in the form of small rules that society ought to be aware of where they are entitled and which the rights of others," said Bambang.
